TOKYO 2020 OLYMPIC UNIFORM

For the Tokyo 2020 Olympics, the creative direction and inspiration of the women’s track and field uniform was ignited by my concept of integrating Langer Lines, the body’s natural skin tension lines into the foundation of the design. This idea informed how fabric grain and structure aligned with muscle movement, creating garments that move harmoniously with the athlete.

I developed the patterns for the women’s uniforms, overseeing prototyping and fit sessions in close collaboration with computational designers and the broader innovation team. By aligning garment engineering with biomechanics, we achieved a second-skin system built for zero distraction at maximum effort. The result translated conceptual innovation into functional excellence on the world stage, demonstrating how precision pattern development and athlete-informed design elevate performance at the highest level of sport.
